Rewards Each Loyal Customer with $2000 in Special Savings Coupons |
October 5, 2001, Norwood, MA--The traditional 15th anniversary gift is crystal. Domain Home Fashions, a 23-store home furnishings retailer, has decided to do much better. As part of its 15th Anniversary celebration, it's rewarding its loyal customers with the lowest prices in Domain's history and up to $2000 in special savings coupons from 16 different companies. "When we were planning something special for our 15th anniversary, we thought of a cooperative marketing program with a select group of companies," said Laura Katz, G.M.M. and V.P. of Marketing at Domain Home Fashions. "In return for exposing these companies to our customers, we negotiated special savings in the form of coupons. Our customers save money, and our coop-marketing partners gain access to our extremely desirable customer base. In a difficult retail environment, it's this type of innovative marketing program that draws traffic into stores."
Domain customers can visit any one of Domain's 23 stores to pick up a special coupon book with $2,000 of special savings inside. The 150,000 customers who are on Domain's direct mail list will automatically receive the 12-page book in the mail, and Domain expects to hand out an additional 250,000 copies in its stores by the end of October. "We looked for up-scale partners that matched our diverse customer base which spans from Massachusetts to Washington, D.C.", said Judy George, CEO of Domain. Coupons include special discounts for culinary enthusiasts from Chaudier, the cookware of choice aboard Air Force One, the Culinary Institute of America, Kitchen, Etc., and wine connoisseurs, Best Cellars and Geerlings and Wade. There are also discounts at several prestigious women's apparel boutiques such as April Cornell and J.Jill, savings on spa treatments and a Victorian castle getaway. The coupon offers can be viewed on the company's 500+ page website www.domain-home.com, but are only valid with printed coupons located in-store. "When we couple this promotion with our "Lowest Prices in History Sale", said Judy George, "we expect the resulting store traffic to generate a successful fall season. While many furniture retailers are experiencing difficult times, we've seen double digit same store sales increases this spring and summer." In contrast to what is happening in much of the rest of the industry - store cutbacks and closures - Domain is expanding again. The retailer opened a new store in New York City's West End in August and moved to a new and larger location in Hartsdale, NY. It soon expects to open its' 24th store in Marlton, NJ in The Promenade at Sagemore, an open-air lifestyle center. Several additional stores are on the drawing boards, and the retailer is actively scouting for new retail locations. In addition, the retailer has increased its product development efforts and pace of new product introductions. Domain's "Chateau Harvest" collections debuted in all 23 Domain stores in September with many new collections planned for the fall. Domain Home Fashions, founded in 1985, now has 23 retail stores in high-traffic, upscale malls and sites from Boston to Washington, D.C. The retailer has an expansion program that will add 20 new stores to their existing locations over the next three years. Well-loved for its affordable decorator looks, fully accessorized displays and classic European-style furnishings, Domain has won numerous industry and customer awards, including Outstanding National Furniture Store Chain. Domain's Founder and CEO, Judy George, has also won many awards, is a best-selling author and has appeared on national TV, radio shows and in magazines.
