DOMAIN DEBUTS ‘THE AGA SHOP' AT NEW BROOKFIELD, CT LOCATION

Home Furnishings Leader Provides Prominent Platform for Britain’s Legendary Aga Cookers

May 11, 2005 – Norwood, MA – Domain Home Fashions, lifestyle and home furnishings experts, announced the opening of a 10,000 square foot showroom at 273 Federal Road in Brookfield, CT. The Company relocated its existing Danbury Mall business to a larger location to rollout a newly designed model that includes ‘The Aga Shop’, a conjoined 1,000 square foot boutique for the culinary enthusiast featuring the legendary Aga of Britain. The vintage style cookers have graced the homes of royalty and Britain’s finest country estates for over 80 years. Now the Aga is being discovered by Americans for its superior performance, handcrafted quality and unmistakable beauty. This is the first Aga shop in the U.S. and also a prototype for the Company’s future Domain/Aga units.

Company president, Jim McCullagh, “We’ve been selling Agas successfully for about two years through half of our Domain locations. Our growth strategy now includes building a more prominent platform for Aga, much like the shops in Europe, to attract those consumers looking for a stand-alone kitchen centerpiece and cooking instrument made to the highest standard.”

Domain’s newest store features over 35 exclusive designer collections for every lifestyle and for every room in the home with a full complement of custom decorative accessories. Brookfield, however, offers the consumer even more with a special focus on the heart of the home, the kitchen. The British style kitchen boutique features a colorful presentation of classic Aga radiant heat cookers, the newer dual fuel models, and a line of professional cookware, kitchenware and textiles. Free cooking classes will also be offered by an on-staff Aga Specialist.

While relatively new to Domain and the U.S., the Aga has been a treasured possession in kitchens across Europe and throughout the world since the 1920’s. Created for his wife by Gustaf Dalen, a Nobel Prize winning Swedish physicist blinded in an explosion in 1922, the Aga is a feat of culinary engineering that remains unsurpassed today. The classic model is on 24-7 so it’s ready to cook when you are, and its patented radiant heat design guarantees that food is cooked to perfection.

Domain CEO, Judy George, “For 20 years it’s been our mission to create exclusive home furnishings with distinctive style. So we are very excited to be moving into the kitchen arena and offering the consumer and cooking enthusiasts everywhere the ultimate cooking experience with the Aga.”

Aga Foodservice Group PLC (“AFG”), the brand leader in the U.K. for consumer and commercial kitchen related products, acquired Domain in 2002 to expand its lifestyle driven businesses to the U.S. The combined company made Domain the first specialty retailing chain in the U.S. to offer upscale consumers a total approach to the home.

Domain’s 30 stores are currently located in high-end malls, lifestyle and freestanding shopping centers from Boston to Washington, D.C. Domain has won numerous industry and customer awards, including Outstanding National Furniture Store Chain. Company founder and CEO, Judy George, has also won many awards, is a best-selling author and has appeared on national TV, radio shows and in magazines.
