AGA FOODSERVICE STRENGTHENS BOARD

 
Aga Foodservice is strengthening its Board with three new appointments as it implements its strategy to be an international brand led business.

John Lovering, currently Chairman of the Peacock Group and Laurel Pub Company, becomes a non-executive director. He was Chairman of Homebase prior to its recent sale to GUS. John developed the successful strategy and assembled the management team with Permira Advisers following its acquisition from Sainsburys in 2001. He was Chairman of Odeon Cinemas prior to its recent sale and was Chairman of Fired Earth prior to its acquisition by Aga Foodservice in 2001. He was formerly Chief Operating Officer of Tarmac and Finance Director of Sears.

Helen Mahy, Company Secretary of National Grid Transco plc, becomes a non-executive director. She joined Lattice Group plc in early 2002 prior to its merger with National Grid to create National Grid Transco in October 2002. She had previously worked for ten years in legal, commercial and company secretarial roles at Babcock International Group PLC and was a member of its executive committee.

Judy George, founder and Chief Executive of Domain, is to join the Board on 1st July 2003 as US Retail Director. Domain was acquired by Aga Foodservice in March 2002. Judy founded Domain in 1986 and made it into a $65 million turnover business with 26 stores on the US east coast. She is leading the creation of Aga/Domain stores, the first of which opened in November 2002, and is based around her concept of the “Great Room”. Judy has written and spoken widely on home fashions and management issues.

Kit Farrow, Chairman of Aga Foodservice Group said, “The breadth of John, Helen and Judy’s experience adds considerably to the overall strength of the Board in addressing retailing, commercial and governance issues.”

In accordance with Chapter 16.4 of the Listing Rules, no further details are required to be disclosed under paragraph 6.F.2 (b) to (g).
