DOMAIN HOME FASHIONS OPENS CARLE PLACE SHOWCASE FOR LONG ISLAND CUSTOMERS

Home furnishings leader poised to better serve loyal customer base

Norwood, MA – January 15, 2003 – Domain, a trend-setting retailer of exclusive home furnishings and decorative accessories, has relocated its Roosevelt Field, NY store to neighboring Carle Place and will open its doors on Saturday, January 18th. Now at the intersection of Glen Cove and Old Country Roads, Domain’s new 8400 sq. ft. home is an historic building that housed the “Spirit of St. Louis” prior to its famous transatlantic flight. It is twice the size of the previous location and will serve the same customer base, but with a much larger selection of European-inspired living, dining, bedroom, and occasional furnishings, all exclusively designed for Domain’s discriminating, style conscious customer. Over 47 collections will be fully accessorized and artfully displayed… including five new collections to mark the New Year.

Company Founder and CEO, Judy George commented, “This new showcase will allow us to offer a vastly expanded assortment of unique and exclusive Domain product. It’s also an opportunity to better serve our loyal Roosevelt Field customers as well as attract new customers to Domain with a value-driven strategy of high style, high quality merchandise. And, attractive financing and complimentary in-home design support.”

Carle Place is part of an on-going growth strategy the retailer has for its 27-store chain. Domain’s other New York locations include Hartsdale, Manhasset and Manhattan (3).

Domain Home Fashions was acquired in March 2002 by Aga Foodservice plc of the U.K. – makers of the legendary Aga range. The merger positions the Company as the first specialty retailing chain in the U.S. to offer upscale consumers a “total approach to the home” by combining Domain’s exclusive home furnishings with Aga’s premium kitchen brands. The first Domain store featuring Aga ranges recently opened in Fairfax, VA. More Domain/Aga showrooms are scheduled to open in New Jersey this spring.

Domain stores are currently located in upscale malls, lifestyle and freestanding shopping centers from Boston to D.C. Domain has won numerous industry and customer awards, including Outstanding National Furniture Store Chain. Company Founder and CEO, Judy George, has also won many awards, is a best-selling author and has appeared on national TV, radio shows and in magazines.
